Energy

Decentralised, renewable, no new nuclear plants: energy, nuclear power and Chernobyl, dams, storage, fuels and E85 on one page.

Energy

Decentralise energy supply. No new nuclear plants before the very last option for regenerative, green, CO2-neutral energy production has been exhausted.

The higher the local energy production and storage, the lower the blackmailability and the higher the resilience in conflict.

This brings more freedom and lower costs over the long term.

Nuclear power: too dangerous

Chernobyl 1986: the cloud reached Ticino too, and 40 percent of the caesium is still there. Facts, figures and the 2027 vote.

When the mountain falls

Vajont showed it: the dam does not break. How safe are the Swiss dams, what does upkeep cost, and why are they indispensable anyway?

Climate and energy

CH, EU, EFTA should per se make all energy imports from third countries unnecessary.

No oil, gas, LNG or coal from non-Western-oriented states, as of 2026.

No green hydrogen or synthetic fuels from politically unstable or authoritarian regimes and dictatorships. No trade with states that support such regions, e.g. India.

Trade exclusively within EU/EFTA, Norway, Iceland, including controlled, democratically stable partners such as Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea.

Reduce geopolitical blackmailability to zero and maximise pressure to drive independent expansion of photovoltaics, wind, hydro and geothermal.

Synthetic energy storage

Ammonia NH3 molecule

Ammonia NH₃

Pure, or with carbon or nitrogen: hydrogen can be stored and used in many ways.

Carbon and hydrogen can be processed into ethanol, methanol or ammonia (nitrogen), for example. In use the exhaust is water; production yields waste heat (recyclable).

Europe: energy revolution

Hydrogen system with heat exchanger

Hydrogen system with heat exchanger

Only Europe will drive the energy transition. The rest of the world shows little interest in clean, renewable energy and systems.

Fact check for this card3/10

China builds more solar and wind than the rest of the world combined. 'The rest of the world shows little interest' is wrong.

CHF 0.80 per litre

Price calculation 2025

Fact check for this card6/10

The price is proven for France: 0.798 euros a litre at the pump in May 2026, about 0.75 francs. For Switzerland CHF 0.80 is a target, not today's fact.

E85 bioethanol

Intermarche E85 fuel receipt

Fuel made from sugar beet, cereals and residues of sugar and starch production. In France it carries only about 12 cents a litre in tax, a fraction of the tax on petrol, and can be filled up for under 0.80 euros a litre, with roughly half to two thirds less CO2 than petrol. The French model promotes less inflation and more purchasing power. The same law exists in Switzerland and should be pushed harder.

E85 pump in France, 0.798 euros a litre

France, May 2026: 59.99 litres of E85 for 47.87 euros - 0.798 euros a litre.

Fact check for this card8/10

Price proven by his own pump photo, tax about 12 cents a litre (TICPE), feedstocks and CO2 reduction per the French industry and parliament. Deduction: the CO2 figure varies between 50 and 66 percent depending on the source.
